Preschool through Eighth Grade
Summer Enrichment Workshops
On our Alamo campus, preschoolers romp around our park-like playground, create masterpieces, enjoy games and puzzles, review phonics and numbers while solidifying new friendships.
Dorris-Eaton School’s San Ramon campus offers entering kindergarten through eighth-grade students a stimulating and enriching program that provides a bridge to the upcoming school year. Students are taught by highly-skilled teachers in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
4–6 Math
Students in grades 4–5 expand their knowledge of geometry and increase spatial awareness. Additionally, students explore three-dimensional forms and logic problems using diagrams, logic problems, and architectural tools. The workshop for Grade 6 uses multiple problem-solving methods to explore word problems as well as teaches test-taking skills and methods for improving accuracy.
Preschool
It's the perfect way to spend a morning. Children create masterpieces, dig and build, and socialize with friends. Teachers skillfully weave in the basics of phonics and math along with projects which build small and gross motor skills. They also help students hone their ability to listen, observe, and follow directions.
K–3 Language Arts
Each two-week workshop is designed to enrich academic and social skills. Highly skilled teachers, small class size, and a supportive atmosphere combine to make our Young Scholars, Writing and Illustration, and Beyond the Basics Workshops great additions to a summer plan.
4–5 Language Arts
Using short stories as a springboard to delve into character development, plot prediction, foreshadowing, point of view, and more, we reveal how students can apply these concepts to their own writing. In addition to grammar, we also teach organizational skills, reading for deeper meaning, and the use of rich vocabulary.
6-8 Language Arts
Language Arts Workshop students will use short stories to explore character development, plot prediction, personification, symbolism, foreshadowing, and point of view and will apply these skills in their own writing. Organizational and critical thinking skills along with grammar and punctuation will be taught and practiced.
